Look him or her in the eye

A word of advice from a health care professional:

If your doctor decides to do a major procedure on you, before you let him or her touch you, look them in the eye and make them promise you that they will check all their equipment personally, and not just trust that it was done by someone else. If they blow you off, get another doctor.
