I didn't like chiang mai

I think I had such a good time in Ubon, that anything after that was just going to be disappointing, no matter what. Anyway, I spent 4 days there, doing tourist stuff, and it was kind of boring. One of my Ubon friends noted that I am probably the only tourist ever who didn't like Chiang Mai. Oh well.

I have been in SE Asia for over a month now, and although I am not homesick, I am kind of tired of traveling (and washing my clothes in the bathtub).

I am back in Bangkok until tomorrow. Bangkok is often perplexing, but never boring.

I did manage to take some pictures. Some random images:

A water buffalo--still very much in use on the farms and in the fields. I was about 8 inches away from this guy, and that was probably way too close. Look how straight his teeth are. Thai orthodontists rule!

chiangmai2
In some caves--probably one of the more interesting excursions. It was dark.

In one of the hill tribe villages.

She just wouldn't smile. I tried everyting except sticking my tongue out at her and making a "pffftttt" noise.

Ok, I did stick my tongue out at her and make a pffftttt noise...

pffttt

I'm off to the Philippines in the morning. No idea if there will be internets or not where I will be, so maybe this is it until I return to Bangkok in two weeks.
