water music

last year i started looking at the work of woolgatheringlj. she started doing a daily watercolor and posting it on her website a few years ago. inspired, i bought a little watercolor set, and did absolutely nothing with it.

around christmas time, i sent the link to my friend j (daily_in_la), and bought her a little watercolor set and some paper as a christmas gift.

much to my surprise, she actually started painting. maybe i wasn't all that surprised--she's terribly creative.
one of her first paintings was of a photograph i took in thailand. i liked that.

this morning i dug out my own unused watercolor set and started playing around with it.

it's the first time i have ever painted anything. it is a (sort of inexact) copy of something j painted the other day. hers is a lot better, but i sure like the idea that i actually made this!
