July 28--little black book

I know someone who has a little black book. Every time she hears about a book that sounds interesting, she writes it in the little black book for future reference.

I write the names of books on scraps of paper and on the back of envelopes. I find them scattered all over the house, but never when I am actually thinking about something to read.

She let me look through the little black book today, and I said, "I want one of these!"

My favorite book so far this year has been Gilead, by Marilynne Robinson.
