Our few precious moments....
May. 3rd, 2003 12:56 pmThe older nieces (12, 12, 11) are here for the weekend. Discussions range from who is cuter: Malfoy or Harry Potter, to who is cuter: Adam or Timothy (from school).
I have been posed the question: "Uncle Mike, if you and your best friend both liked the same boy, and your friend was telling lies about you, what would you do?"
I have read a story that one wrote about three cousins who were psychic and could read the minds of boys to find out if the boys liked them or not.
I have explained a poem that describes love as an onion.
We have watched "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" twice: once in English and once in Spanish with French subtitles.
Yesterday evening, one of the girls shared an insight about the future. They have younger sisters, who are 3, 3, and 2. She remarked that one of these days, it will be the younger ones coming to spend the weekend instead of them.
She added, somewhat tongue-in-cheek,"So we should make the most of these few precious moments we have together, before we grow up". She is wise beyond her years.
We are off to spend a little of this precious time together.
