So many entries, so little time
Jun. 17th, 2004 01:12 pmI am so behind in updating. There are many potential posts circling around in my brain waiting for permission to land. Here's a brief synopsis of each:
1. The retreat at Lake Tahoe: We were having an early morning Mass on the shore of the lake--it was kind of hazy and cool, absolutely still, and very beautiful. As I looked out over the water, I thought, "Michael would have been able to hear the gunshot when Fredo was killed".
2. The ordination: Wow--it was incredible. But almost no pictures, because I didn't bring my camera. I got to meet a couple of LJ friends there, who attended the ordination--
jjustj, and
badsede, the recipient of my first ever blessing.
3. My first Mass as a deacon: I was more nervous about this than I was about the ordination. My family was there, and I gave blessings to both my parents. Then we had pancakes.
4. Deacon booty: An Alfred E. Newman bobblehead and enough to either buy a digital SLR or take Arlina on a nice trip somewhere.
5. Arlina: She read one of the scripture readings at the ordination, and it was THE moment for me. All the activity just wiped her out.
6. Arlina part II: not-so-encouraging news about her right hip.
7. Nieces: Staying with us for a while, helping to keep Arlina company. They are revealing to us the trauma and drama of their lives, a piece at a time. I am so glad my teenage years are a distant memory.
8. Delightful coffee "let's meet in person" with
weaktwos, who lives in the same town as me!
9. Pictures: lots and lots taken, but no place to upload to.
10. The "Six Dollar Burger" homily.
Hopefully I'll get some time to expand on these, but if there are any you're particularly interested in, let me know.
