ta-ta for now
Aug. 3rd, 2004 03:18 pmWe decided to take our house off the market. We had anticipated it would sell quickly, well in advance of Arlina's surgery, but it didn't. I think we have a crappy realtor. Or we did. ;)
It is kind of a relief, though. Moving in the middle of everything else that is going on would just be dumb. And, as I have mentioned before, I like our house. But Arlina is happy with this decision, so it is really a win-win, at least for the time being.
So we pull out Plan B: Arlina will go to her parent's house after she gets out of the hospital after her surgery. They have an extra room that we furnished with our extra bed and stuff. We'll stay there while she recovers, then bring her home when she is up and around. This should work out fine--their house is actually closer to the hospital than ours, so it will be easier for me to go back to work.
Surgery is a week from thursday. yikes!
We are off to sunny southern california for the rest of the week. I'd promise to post but I'll be traveling with 3 teenagers who will demand equal time.
Oh, there is an interesting niece story developing--more when I get back.
Adios!
