the update
Aug. 15th, 2004 09:01 amArlina is doing great!
Lots of pain the first night. It was rough.
Second day went better--she sat at the bedside with he physical therapist and started eating. the pain became more tolerable after they added some supplemental meds.
Yesterday, she walked a few steps with the therapist, and talked her filipino nurse into giving up her lunch. She got a little goofy from being tired and all the meds, but it was a pleasant goofy so we had fun with it. She slept all night last night.
She is doing much better than I would have expected--but almost exactly the way the surgeon described it. We aren't sure when she will come home--she may have to go to the rehab unit for a few days.
Maybe I'll take a picture today.
