"I guess I should make an entry"

Things are going ok, just very busy. Arlina is recovering nicely, and making progress every day. She is able to get around pretty well now. She amazes me. I will post more about this next week after we have a visit with the oncologist.
Monday is the beginning of a week-long accreditation survey for the hospital, and so I have been working both day and night this week to get caught up and make sure everything is in order. Arlina is at her mom's house for a few days.
Tomorrow I will baptize the grandchild of a friend.
I walk about three or four miles every day. Physically, I feel better than I have in a long time. I have lost over 30 pounds in the past few months.
I still take lots of pictures. None of them seem "livejournal-worthy" though.
Arlina and I were talking the other night about what we could do for our anniversary trip in October. I have lots of vacation time saved up, and this seems the time to use it. She should be fairly well recovered from her surgery, and able to walk better than she has in a while (or so we hope). We have some money that we set aside for a rainy day, and this also seems an appropriate time.
We have considered a number of options--rent a place in italy or paris for a month, spend some time in the philippines, and so on. The limitations being how she feels, to what degree she is able to tolerate travel, and easy access to adequate healthcare if the need arises.
One of the things that actually seems possible is to rent an RV and travel around the US and Canada for a while. It seems like this would be the most reasonable option--we could take it slow, there would always be a place for her to rest, and there is a lot of interesting stuff we have never seen. Not to mention the possibility of seeing some of you! :)
I'ts pretty much going to depend on what happens with the oncologist next week--where we go from here. But we need to have a dream. At least we have a few to choose from at the moment.
