I find that I do not have very much routine to my life. I pretty much do what seems to be the most appropriate thing at the moment. I don't really mind it too much, but I'm sure it will get old after a while, and I'll figure out something--most likely when I go back to work.

I've been busy with appointments--talking to insurance agents, banks, attorneys and so on. Everybody wants a death certificate. I had to stop after a while--it got difficult. I think I mentioned before that I can only seem to do so much of anything before I have to quit and move on to something else.

I went out to the cemetery yesterday. I was surprised that the flowers we left were still in pretty good shape. I brought one home and hung it upside-down so it will dry out. When I put Arlina's ashes in the niche, I placed a dried flower on top of the urn. It was from our wedding--the only one that got saved. When this one dries out, I'll put it in the place we kept the other one.

After the cemetery I went to my mother-in-law's house and visited for a while. She told me about how Arlina wanted to be a nurse ever since she was about 5 years old. She couldn't figure out how Arlina even knew what a nurse was--she had never seen one, there was no tv or anything.

They were dirt-poor. Her dad was a tailor, supporting a family of 7 kids. They lived in a little hut. There was no way they could send any of their kids to college--they could barely afford to eat. But Arlina never gave up on her dream to be a nurse, and kept bugging them about it. Ultimately, they borrowed money from anyone they could to send her to nursing school in Manila. They ended up sending all 7 kids to college.

After she finished that story, she told me how she avoided having more than 7 kids. Haha--she's such a trip! I talk to her on the phone every day. She always asks if I have eaten lunch.

I have been planning to go somewhere next week--somewhere where I could take a lot of pictures. I don't know where yet. At first I was just going to get in the car and drive. Then I thought about flying somewhere and renting a car. I was looking for somewhere warm, but it seems like every place within reasonable flying distance (west of the Rockies) is either cold or rainy, except Texas, and I don't want to go to Texas right now. Any suggestions?
