point reyes reflection, january 2005

Back in january, I took a drive down to marin county. I visited all my favorite places, and took a short hike in point reyes. It had rained the day before, and was going to rain again, but the day was beautiful.
I had the big camera with me and took a bunch of pictures--I think it was the first time I really used it for more than a couple of shots. I posted a few of them but never really looked at the rest of them. This was one I completely overlooked.
It is a reflection in the window of a ranger's truck. He was parked there waiting for a helicopter to land. The area that is reflected is where I had been hiking. There is a jet contrail along the tree line--that was what I was trying to capture. At the time, someone on my friends list (

I found some 8x10 photo paper this morning while I was cleaning out the spare room, and made some prints of pictures I had never done much with before. This one printed up very nicely, as did the others. I was kind of impressed with some of the stuff I've captured. I think I'll have my own little private art show in the back hallway.
