Kent State, Ohio--May 4, 1970
May. 4th, 2005 06:15 pmI realize it's old news, and don't wish to detract from the Paula Abdul scandal, but 35 years ago today, on a college campus in Ohio, four students protesting the war in Vietnam were killed by national guardsmen who fired on them.
Just one of those things that deserves to be remembered.

Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.
Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?
Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?
Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.
