February 24--Hold the eggs

I woke up thinking about breakfast this morning, so I headed out to my favorite little diner down the street--the Old Town Grill. It used to be the Sunnyrose Cafe, which was Arlina's favorite breakfast place, but it closed and reopened as my favorite breakfast place about 6 months ago. It is one of those places where I feel comfortable eating alone. I take my journal with me and write away.
One day the owner came up and asked what I was writing about. I told her the abbreviated version of my story, and that I was writing about that. We talked for a while, and she asked if she could call me by name when I came in. It feels good to go to a place where they know your name. I know their names too.
She came up and said "hi" after I finished eating today and asked what was new. I told her about my new job and the nursing students. She said she knew something must be new, because I looked like I was just positively glowing with energy.
I just love feeling connected to the world!
