Chair with flamingos.
So I see Malida filled in the interval between posts. She's in Thailand for a few weeks visiting her mom. I had to stay home because of school and work. I wish I was there too. She has the iPad, and I guess it is tuned to Zyzyly instead of Minkybyte. Anyway, it's nice to see her make an entry. she's bee practicing her writing skills and just finished an ESL class on writing. I can see a difference.
I love reading the stories she writes for school. The instructor gives her a picture, and she has to write a story about it. She's very creative and has an interesting imagination. Hopefully she will continue to write here.
I am thinking this might be the last picture with this chair. I went to Ikea last weekend and bought a different chair, and now the new chair is in the back of my car. This chair is now in my office, with a stack of research articles sitting on it.
I have a few days off and am going to drive out to the east side of the Sierras and take a few pictures. It's been a long time since I've done that. The route I will be tracing is the same route I took back in 2005 as I was trying to decide what to do with myself. I went back to my old journal to see what I was thinking about, and found this from June 5, 1995:

A week later I had quit my job and had this to say: "I have no idea where I am going, but one thing is sure--wherever I go, I'm gonna be there, and I need to learn to live with me."
