57014--finals day
Dec. 19th, 2013 07:34 pmToday was finals day for our students. You could feel the anxiety crackling in the air like static electricity. All the professors met as a group yesterday to look over the questions and assign a Bloom's Taxonomy rating to each of them. Normally we don't do this, but the board of registered nursing is making a visit next year, and this is one of the hoops they set out for us to jump through. It was an interesting exercise, though, as we debated how difficult each question was.
I had to leave for a few minutes to meet with a student, and when I came back, they had produced an impromptu party to celebrate my recent graduation. Everyone was wearing star-glasses and they had a cake for me. They made me wear "GRAD" glasses and gave me a giant pen. It was pretty awesome.
So the final exam went well, and everyone passed the class. Tomorrow we will have the pinning ceremony and send them on their way as newly minted nurses. I'm glad the semester is over. It seems like it has been going on forever. I am ready for a break.
It seems like I have ended almost every post with some variation on "I am ready for a break".
I came home this afternoon completely exhausted and took a nap. I love being able to take a nap in the afternoon, even if it makes me sound like an old fuddy-duddy. I woke up refreshed and decorated the cookies I mad the other day, then made holiday plates wrapped in cellophane and tied with red ribbon for my co-workers. Malida decorated some for her co-workers too. It was fun. Now we will watch some more Breaking Bad. We are only 6 episodes from finishing the series.
