March 19--Head East
Mar. 19th, 2016 08:56 pmIt was shaping up to be a beautiful day so we decided to have some soup and take a road trip eastward toward the Sierras. We live at the edge of the urban boundary, so we can drive for ten minutes and be out in the country.
It was a lovely day. Everything is green and blooming, and all the creeks and streams are full.

The remains of the old road and a bridge.
We drove up to where there was snow and hiked around in it a bit. It was warm--about 50 degrees up there, but it still looks like winter.

On the way down we stopped at an old stage stop, Cooks Station, and had a couple of delicious hamburgers.
It was a great day to be out and about.
