Mar. 21st, 2016 10:59 pmI dreamed last night that when I woke up I had gone to bed way late and had gotten only 3 1/2 hours of sleep. So when I actually woke up at 7 am, I expected to be tired, but I wasn't, because I had actually gotten 8 hours of sleep. It was disorienting and confusing.
Anyway, I got up and had some coffee. Then I sat down to 4 hours of lecture revisions to adapt to the new textbook. It was kind of like being at work, but wearing pajamas and without any interruptions. I got a lot more done than I expected. This is how community college professors spend spring break.
I went for a walk in the afternoon and did some shopping. I am planning to make some pesto fettuccini with shrimp and asparagus tomorrow. I bought the asparagus.
I finished a doctoral assignment this evening. I received feedback from my last paper that indicates that my professor (and faculty advisor) thinks there might be issues with my proposed project. Two weeks ago, when I was in Boise, my project was solid. I have a friend who warned me that doctoral school is an unending series of heartbreaks and flaming hoops, and you just have to deal with it. So I do. I have a phone conference with the professor on Wednesday to shed some light on the issues and what flaming hoops I will have to jump through to fix them.
Mook says, "I don't see any flaming hoops."
