staff meeting

If yesterday's wasn't creepy enough for you.

I spent a good part of the day writing my self-eval for my upcoming performance evaluation. I don't mind getting evaluated. I usually do ok, but I hate writing self-evals. As soon as I start I think about all the stuff I didn't accomplish, and forget about all the stuff I did accomplish. I went in and talked to good boss about it and she reminded me of all the good stuff I did in the past year. She even provided a pad of paper so I could write it down. That's why she's good boss.

Self-evals are another reason I am glad I retired. They're utterly pointless but they are one of those things that made administration wet themselves with glee over how much they're "involved" with employees. My best friend at work always wrote, "My accomplishments are personal and private" (he also put that for his goals), which I should have done all those years.

To me, either you're a good enough employee to keep or you're not.

Somewhere out there, there must be someone who looks like those training dummies. Have you ever seen someone with a face like that?

Way cool photo! I need a good boss. Want to come work for my practice, and be my good boss? I am way overdue for a boss/manager who reminds me of what I've done well instead of focusing on things I have no control over that should have been done better.

It's a study group. They're trying to make sense of the Krebs cycle.

I am aware that children have proportionally bigger heads than adults... but little dude on the left has a heckuva melon.
