Beautiful. I have to go a-scouting one of these days as the fictional island town in my book is supposed to be somewhere between Eureka and the Oregon line. My two MC's walk on a beach much like this.

You should extend your town up above the Oregon line--it is absolutely gorgeous up there. The California coast up there is a bit wild.

I love this beach--it is almost always deserted when we go down there to walk. It's like our own private beach.

It needs to be in California for a historical plot point related to marriage equality, and wild/remote kind of works for the story, but since it's a fictional place I can take some of the natural qualities of the Oregon coast into consideration too, I guess.
