the car

So they tell me that it will cost $1100 to fix my car--the something with the carburetor. The car is 14 years old, and is only worth $1500, but I can't afford a new one because my wife just got one (score= 2 new cars for her vs none for me since our wedding). I should be driving a Porsche these days, but now I have a Honda that doesn't work.
I'm gonna take it somewhere else to get a second opinion. I sure wish I had picked up some mechanical skills along the way.
