Dazed and Confused
Sep. 8th, 2003 12:37 pmI have all sorts of things that I have wanted to write about, but have been scattered all weekend, and into today. Arlina has felt sick all week after resuming chemo on Tuesday. This has been hard for me--It's something I want to write about in a separate post, but I need to be a little more focused.
So we went to the doctor today and it turns out that she probably has developed a clot in her right arm, where her IV catheter is. We are going to have an ultrasound this afternoon after her chemo. It sucks, but it's not really a life-threatening thing--just another complication. As if things aren't hard enough for her already. Every complication seems to wear her down a little more. Me too, I guess.

Date: 2003-09-08 01:07 pm (UTC)You probably won't believe this now but, for me, cancer has actually worked out to be a blessing in disguise. I met so many wonderful people and I feel a desire to help and encourage others who are going through this wretched experience. Somebody else said it here that having survived catastrophic illness will help your ministry because you've been there, too, and you will know what to say when people ask you for help.
Arlina, things look desperate now but I know you are going to survive and emerge from this stronger than you were before.

Date: 2003-09-11 10:36 am (UTC)I was thinking about you this morning in something totaly unrelated. Did you ever know a girl named Michelle Lemoine? I went to grade school with her, but she lived over in Manor area on Boxwood.
