oh! thank you so much for that- at my Granny and Papa's house in Jasper, FL, there were camellia bushes everywhere (I now have a tiny red bush in my yard that was grown from one of her cuttings). I used to pick up the fallen flowers of one particularly massive red and white flecked one that hadn't turned too brown yet, and try to make leis out of them.

My very favorite was right by the carport with tiny pale pink flowers. I used to think they looked like baby roses, but better because of their weight. When Granny died 11 years ago, she was napping in a chair (she had been crocheting and talking to friends, and had dozed off as older folks sometimes do when sitting in the warm sun), right in front of that bush. Thanks again for reminding me of her and her magnificent green thumb:).

I have walked past that bush every day for years and never noticed it until yesterday. It makes me wonder what else is out there.
