I can vouch for both of Darren Aronofsky's recent films, Pi and Requiem for a Dream. Both are incredible films, and the latter is probably the most disturbing film I have ever seen.

Our friend Josh watched it in the theater, then went back to his friend's apartment to find that it had burned down.
