arlina had the unusual habit of dating certain household items as she bought them. i could never figure out why she would date some things and not others, or why it was even important to date them at all. if i happened to ask, she would look at me as if it were the most obvious thing in the world that you would date plastic wrap, but not aluminum foil.

this is the last of the dated items.

400 square feet of plastic wrap, purchased by her on may 1, 2004.

she wanted to kow how long it would last.

I am today wearing the last of Dale's socks. They are threadbare, but I hate to give them up.
I didn't put up Dale's picture in any of my many houses, but now I can.
The paper files have been replaced, but in his own hand I keep Etrade Financial paper file, written in his own hand. That is how he left an egg for me to hatch. A few computer skills in 1995.
Still, I don't know how to deal with great love and great love lost.
I have centered myself on real love of children and family and true friends. Love has many faces. And I think there is possibly, no expiration date.

This picture just really jolted me.

On another note, I once had a boyfriend who dated all sorts of household items, from light bulbs before they were screwed in to the sides of rolls of masking tape, and even put the date he bought the new toilet seat under the lid.

For some reason, I'm struck with the idea of knitting you a pair of socks. I don't know if you would like handknit socks, or if you wear wool, but if that sounds at all appealing, please email me so that I can get your size info.

No promises on when they'll arrive, beyond a vague sense that the next few months will see me knitting that pair. I suspect that the impetus to knit them will hit me in much the same manner as the feeling that I should ask if you'd like them.

Wow. That struck a big chord in me.
Impermenance is something I can intellectually grasp and even honor, but sometimes my emotional intelligence is like "what the hell do you know?!"

My mom had her 66th birthday on Tuesday. I cried. I just don't want her to age at all anymore.

Wow, the more I look at this picture, the more things comes to mind. The vase, the coffee, the grinder, the words on the box, your words after the picture...

"she wanted to kow how long it would last." - so many meanings...

Actually, I need two specific measurements:

--The circumference of your foot (when standing) around the widest part (usually around the ball of the foot)
--The length of your foot from the back of the heel to the tip of you big toe.

You can email that to me if you like (mailATanitaderouenDOTnet)--oh, and favorite/most hated color...and--are you allergic to wool?

Cheers!
