May 18--Empty Desk

I packed everything up and brought it home, where it all sits in the corner of my garage, while I wait for our "new" offices to be ready. Latest word is that we can move in on June 1, but have to be out of this building by May 25. I brought home all the stuff I am currently working on, and put it in its own box, so hopefully it won't get lost.

I will go in one more time tomorrow and back up my computer files. The IT guy said it wasn't necessary, but said I would anyway, and he said, "Good idea!" lol.

I took a bunch of pictures of stuff being moved out of the building and the empty classrooms. I forgot to download them though, so maybe tomorrow.

In the meantime, my empty desk.

Must be a weird feeling, having been in the same spot for so long. I have been moved around every few years (and am now "homeless" at work) so I never got the chance to be that rooted.

Have you been back to see the new space? Any more believable that they'll be ready?

I've only been in this office for a few years, though I have history with this building since the late 1980s. I won't miss the office.

I went to see what the new place looked like today, and it looks pretty much as it did the last time, except the one room that was ready is now filled with stuff.
