The telltale heart
Sep. 26th, 2002 10:56 amI was messing around on the internet a few minutes ago with the high speed access that I have surreptitously tapped into at work. The phone rang. The caller identified herself as being from the Internet Audit department. My entire professional career flashed before my eyes as I envisioned being caught stealing valuable internet bandwidth (or whatever it is) from the hospital.
Well, she actually didn't say "Internet" audit. It was Internal Audit, and she was calling to let me know that the board of directors for the Critical Care Nurse association had a gift for me for doing that talk on sepsis a few weeks ago.
It's so funny how the guilty mind works.
