2. When I was 27, I was drinking about 1 1/2 quarts of wine every evening. I tried wine in a box once, but it took too long for it to come out. I was in a hurry.
3. Today, I ate 5 fortune cookies:
--"You do not always have to exceed expectations"
--"Resist those who try to predict and set your fate"
--"You will always have good luck in your personal affairs"
--"You will be awarded some great honor"
--"24 28 5 46 17 13"
4. By the age of 21 I had seen more than 400 babies being born. It was never anything other than miraculous.
5. My best friend was diagnosed with a brain tumor about three months before I got married. He went downhill pretty fast, but a few weeks before I was to be married, he improved enough to stand with me on my wedding day. As my wife was walking down the aisle, he began to tilt sideways. I thought he was falling, and I tried to steady him, but he wanted to tell me something. He smiled, and whispered in my ear, "last chance". They were the last words he ever spoke to me. Five weeks later he died. It's been more than nine years and I still miss him.
6. Writing number 5 brought tears to my eyes.
