The next day
May. 16th, 2003 01:52 pmFirst, thank you for all your prayers and support. It means so much to know you are out there.
Today has been a real roller coaster ride. We have managed to laugh and cry, ponder best and worst case scenarios, and eat the cantaloupe that I seem to have bought last night for reasons unknown. I guess I thought a cantaloupe would be needed at some point.
We saw Arlina's doctor this morning and he set a bunch of stuff in motion--all sorts of tests and procedures. We saw the surgeon at lunch--she has already mapped out a tenative plan for aggressive treatment. We will see the gastroenterologist this evening. He is a wonderful doctor who we have worked with for many years. When he heard that Arlina was sick, he called all over looking for us so that he could be sure to see us today.
It's funny how life can change so completely in so little time.
