June 3, 1990
Jun. 3rd, 2003 10:58 pmToday was the 13th anniversary of our first date. We had worked together for a year without hardly taking note of each other, and then, something happened.......
When I picked her up for the first time, her mom answered the door, looked at me, and closed it again without a word. A few minutes later her dad opened it again and lety me in. I was seated next to a picture of Arlina and her ex-husband. Always a confidence builder on a first date.
We went to some steak place in old Sacramento that has long since closed. I was so nervous I coudn't even finish my dinner ( I have since made up for it). Eventually I calmed down and we had a good time.
When I dropped her off, we shared a very tender kiss at the door--one that I will never forget. I walked back to my car, and turned back. I told her that I had a wonderful time, and hoped that we could go out again. She describes my face as being suffused with happiness. We did go out again.
Normally we would have gone out to dinner tonight, as we have done for the past 12 years. Tonight we spent our evening in the MRI scanner. As she got off the MRI table this evening, she leaned over and gave me a very tender kiss--one that I will never forget. I am so blessed!
