The River Why

I'm not always thinking about the huge life-changing decisions I might make one of these days. Sometimes it's just little things--interesting things--things that would be cool to do, but wouldn't necessarily change the course of my life.

I went out for espresso this morning (I skipped Mass, but may repent and go to the 5pm), and started wondering if there were people out there who hire themselves out to teach photography. Not a class--more like a guide.

There are fishing guides who you can hire for a week and they will take you out to the trout streams and teach you to fly fish. A week-long crash course.

I would like to find someone who does that with a camera--someone who would take you out to different venues--landscapes, cityscapes, portraits--and teach you how to shoot. Maybe spend a few hours in a camera shop and talk about different lenses and filters and such.

I'm not interested in fly fishing anymore, but I would like to learn how to use my camera.

notecard update

I'm working on note cards this afternoon. I received 51 requests(plus a few that didn't request), and sent out ten this past week. Hopefully I'll send out another ten tomorrow. Batches of ten seem to be my limit--I get hung up thinking what to say when I write them. But it is so cool to look at the cards and think about which one I want to send to a particular person!
