After being called off work for the first 4 hours, we went to the farmer's market and bought a bunch of stuff. Everything was so fresh! I love going there in the spring when all the early fruits and vegetables start appearing. It wasn't very crowded.
We talked to the winemaker for a while. He told us that they were still getting snow up in the foothills, but that the vines seemed ok because most of them were still dormant. it's been an unusual winter.

We bought some tomatoes for a pot luck at Malida's work tomorrow. They were a bit expensive, but looked good. I don't eat tomatoes, so I don't really know which ones are best for what, other than that I always use romas for spaghetti sauce.
After the farmer's market I stopped at the phone place to have it checked out. The woman there thinks that a wayward app is causing the problem, so we removed it and added a virus scanner. We shall see.
When we got home, there was a message that I could have the rest of the day off, so we made plans to get something to eat and go shopping for a new couch.
We got burgers at the Habit. They were delicious as usual. I didn't see anyone I knew there this time.
After lunch we went to one of the big furniture places off Mack Road. It's the same place I bought my big brown chair back in 2005. They were having a "no sales tax" sale.
We found the couch we wanted pretty quickly. We were looking for something a little bigger than the old one. We wanted a lighter color than the one we ultimately chose, but it was either brown or blue, so we went with brown.
This will be the 4th couch that I have bought. I purchased my first one when I first moved up to Sacramento in 1984. I bought it on the installment plan and paid $20 a month for a little less than two years. It was the first piece of new furniture I had ever owned.
I bought my second couch when I moved into my first house. The third is the one I bought when I moved here 11 years ago. We're not getting rid of it--we are putting it in the front room that doesn't have any furniture.
After we got back from couch shopping we took a very relaxing Sunday afternoon nap. I dreamed of an old abandoned town.
Mookie chewed up a pen or something, and had ink all over her chest and paws, so I gave her a bath. it was her first bath, and the first time I have given a cat a bath. It went pretty well, but she was a little upset. Chocko seemed a little upset too, even though she wasn't the one getting the bath. She meowed the whole time Mook was in the water.

After we dried her off, we put her on the couch with her favorite blanket and she took a nap.
We watched the end of season 4 of "Six Feet Under". Kind of a surprising twist at the end.
By the end of the evening, Mook was her old self again, and brought one of her rubber balls into the bed to play with while the rest of us tried to sleep.
