I thought about a great little story concerning the coffee room at my office, but I don't have the pictures to go along with it, so it will have to wait until I'm back there next week. I will tell you this--the idea has something to do with "Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict".

I really only spend one or two days at the office. I have to be there all day on Tuesdays--it's the day all the students are on campus and we have office hours, sometimes (like this week) I have to lecture, and we have all our faculty and team meetings that day. Most of the time I get there at 6:30 am, before anyone else. I make the coffee.

Wednesdays are a mixed bag. Sometimes, if I am lecturing or have a lab, I have to get there really early. Again, I make coffee. If I don't have any responsibilities on campus on Wednesday, I can stay home in the morning. I meet my students at the hospital in the afternoon so they can pick out their patients for the next couple of days. I have grad school classes on Wednesday nights until 10 pm. It's often the longest day of the week for me.

Thursdays and Fridays are spent at the hospital.

I have every Monday off. Mondays are the best day of the week for me. It's the day that I have the world to myself.


I was thinking about the Lincoln movie while I was sitting in class last night. There was some mighty fine acting in it. Not just Daniel Day-Lewis, but the supporting actors too. I'd be ok with them giving everyone a prize or something.

While I was watching the movie, I would think, "this has to be the best scene in the film", and then an even better one would come along. Sometimes I'll watch a movie, and think it's good, but the next day can't remember anything about it. This isn't one of those.


Another in the one-two-three series. I have a longing to see more of these. I think it would be cool if you creative people out there adopted this as a project and made one-two-threes of your own and put them around your neighborhoods and photographed them. I'll be waiting patiently.

I entertained myself this morning by reading about the Beyonce national anthem business. Panem et circenses.
