57184--Full Circle

Today was my first day at the college where I went to nursing school. Mohr Hall houses the allied health programs. It was there when I was a student, and still there--one of the few remaining old buildings on campus.

I retired from the hospital on friday, and enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend in retirement before going back to work full time as a nursing professor. I have been with students in the hospital the past four weeks, and it was nice to be able to say goodbye to all the people I have worked with over the years. Lots of hugs all around.

On my last day, my students gave me a party, and presented me with a Hello Kitty nurse figurine, which I love. Have I mentioned that I really like Hello Kitty, and Malida doesn't? haha!



I was pretty busy on the first day--trying to cram two weeks of semester prep into one day is challenging. I think it will settle out in a few weeks, and be much easier than what I was doing.

I scanned through my friends list here to see what was new. Most of you seem to be sailing smooth waters, but for a few it has been rough. I wish you peace.

I was driving home from work one day a few weeks ago, down 28th by the hospital and saw you crossing the street. It was a hot day and you didn't look happy. I rolled down my window and said "Hey Zyzyly!!" but not with enough force for you to hear me. Plus there was a lot of external noise. Oh well.

I thought you were done with LJ! It's been so long since you've been here. Congrats on the new position! If I remember correctly, this is something you've wanted for awhile.

haha--I was probably unhappy walking out into the heat. Ever since I made the decision to move on I have been pretty happy. It was the right choice.

I just get away from it every once in a while, but always get drawn back. Facebook frustrates me--it's so polarizing.

I have been following your google + post on your new job--it sounds challenging, but right up your alley.

Enjoyed reading the update! I'm afraid I'm with Malida on the whole Hello Kitty thing, but I'll admit there was a time when I was a kid (oh, to be a kid again!) when Hello Kitty was THE AWESOME. I was tickled to see the Hello Kitty nurse.

I can't imagine making such a huge change career-wise, so it helps me to see that you are weathering it well. You inspire me to wonder.
