January 6--home again home again

Ahh home again after our short trip up the coast. It was refreshing. Now we are focused on clearing out the house in anticipation of new flooring to be installed soon. It sounds like it's going to be fun.

This is the birthday of two of my childhood friends--Dawn and Shawn. They are identical twins, who I met in first grade. I have since lost track of both of them. Interestingly, they were born a month to the day after I was, in the same hospital, and delivered by the same obstetrician. I make sure to keep enough room in my head for stuff like that.

It runs all along the road in from the coast,through a grove of redwoods. It's one of my favorite spots :)

I know--I remember all sorts of birthdays for people I haven't seen for years, although Facebook has changed that somewhat.

Always love your photos. Reminds me I need to process the ones I took en route to Reno, maybe some of the Truckee River half-frozen will come out well enough to post.

The Twins' birthday thing rings a bell. A woman I almost got engaged to was born exactly 11 months after me, so for one month each year we were the same age. Easy to remember her birthday. We lost track of each other about 30 years ago.
