April 2--Resonators deployed
Apr. 3rd, 2016 10:20 amI woke up and immediately felt overwhelmed by the coming week. There's a lot going on. I have three separate lectures, two papers to write, a test to write and a bunch of students and preceptors to see. I sat on the side of the bed in a funk for a while until Malida came and talked me out of it. I don't feel that way very often, but sometimes I do, and then I do what I need to do to get through it.
I also have a big meeting a week from Monday with a group who might provide support and/or provide some funding for my doctoral project. I called them last week asking if they could give me the name of someone who could advise me how to proceed, and the woman called back and said their team would meet with me to discuss the project. It is quite a bit more than I was anticipating, but it might be just what I need. It makes me anxious because it is beyond anything I have ever done. I will call the woman again next week and ask her to walk me through what their expectations are so I can prepare.
That's the most difficult thing about this doctoral program--getting out of my comfort zone. I think I wrote about this not too long ago. Maybe that is what I am meant to learn through this.

I was at the hospital yesterday to meet with a student and preceptor. While I was waiting for them, I went out and sat by the fountain. I discovered that it is a portal for the Ingress game. I deployed resonators, and now it is mine. I have no idea what that means.
Our first rose has bloomed. It is such a bright red color. Spring is here for sure.

It DOES get you out walking, it's one of the best bennies of the game.

log in, and type in a zip code. It's an overlay of portals, fields and links on a google map. Prior to a few months ago, Ingress was owned by Google.

Date: 2016-04-04 04:37 pm (UTC)It's an odd pastime in a lot of ways, and I'm not as hardcore as some people are ... but it's a great excuse to go exploring, and I love it for that.
