So far this morning there are boxes and boxes of Krispy Kremes, two loaves of bananna bread, a huge tin of sugar cookies (that contained cookies, not sewing stuff), a loaf of Mrs. Fields' Decadent Fudge, and assorted chocolates.

I have received two pounds of coffee, a gift certificate to barnes and noble, and a candle as gifts this mroning. It has gotten me thinking that I really need to get started on my christmas shopping.

gosh - you're a deacon. so's my dad. how cool is that? pretty right on, i think. thanx for the comment. well, my dad is retired, but still active with the church and knights of columbus here at our church. how long have you been a deacon? what church are you at? do you enjoy it? what do you like to do best? my dad enjoys baptisms. anyhow, i am wishing you and yours a blessed christmas and a joyous new year. may the peace and love of the holy spirit reign within your mind, body and soul. sincerely, janina

I am not yet a deacon, but am in the third year of a four-year program, and hoping to be able to finish. I realy like the process though. I have experienced so much spiritual growth these past few years, although some of it has been difficult.

I just came across your site this morning, but don't remember commenting on anything. It would be pretty strange if you just coincidentally came across mine.

you commented on my rant about going to church and the priest that i do not like who is assigned to my church and is now active pastor. you said it was a nice rant. i went back and looked up your name and the little bio you wrote. yes, there is always difficulty in any type of growth. i wish you the very best of luck and would love to continue to write to you. i know where elk grove is now. my boyfriend told me you're not too far from sacramento. i totally forgot that it is a 4 yr. program and you have a lot to do before becoming a full fledged deacon. still, i think it's wonderful. i hope everything works out for you and your family. sincerely, janina

I remember now! It is good to rant sometimes. The biggest and most progressive changes in the Church have always had theri genesis in dissatisfaction. Don't let a priest distract you from the journey.
I'll keep reading you. Did I mention that I grew up in San Lorenzo?

no you did not. i live in (obviously) san leandro. what high school did you attend? where in slz did you live? what church did you attend? wow, what a trip. i've lived here since '71 in the same house. i graduated from marina high in '81. yeah, about the priest. well, went to 4:30 mass today and it was a different priest. i got to thinking about god and the gospel being all is not impossible for God. that really made me think. i prayed a lot, too. what is your last name? when did you move to elk grove? write me at my e-mail address. yeah, i think ranting is good, too. oh, and i love coffee. just not black. i like to mess with mine like some kind of chemist with flavours and such. love starbucks. i also like peet's. anyhow, hope to hear from you again. janina
