3(x-y)= outa luck
Feb. 3rd, 2003 03:43 pmI had been wondering about my diploma. I finished my coursework for my BS degree in October, and sent in the money for graduation. I have been waiting for the physical proof of my educational achievement, and had planned to call today to see what was up.
At the time I submitted the final paperwork, they assured me repeatedly that I had everything I needed for graduation. Everything. I kept asking--"Are you sure?" they kept saying yes. I had everything.
They call me today, before I can call them, and tell me that my file is missing the math proficiency requirement. Apparently I need to demonstrate proficiency in math before I can graduate. All I have to do is take a 28-question math test, get 75% correct, and I am done.
They have a sample test on the website. It has stuff I have never encountered in my life. I last took algebra in 1987, and have not used 95 percent of it since. "Solve for x, you loser".
I take the sample test and get 7 right. Amazingly, I am able to calculate that this is much less that the required 75%.
I am screwed.
Any suggestions?
