Happy Birthday Kareem!

zyzylyToday is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's birthday. Once when I was in the Los Angeles airport, I saw Kareem and his son walking through one of the terminals. They walked right past me and I got a good look at him. He has these huge, muscular thighs, each one as big around as I was at the time. Oh, and he's taller than me. It was funny though. Even though you know everyone recognized him, they kept their distance--like he had an invisible force field around him or something.
After I saw Kareem, I ran into Chris Elliot sitting at the gate. He was with his dad, Ray Elliot, who used to be part of the radio comedy duo Bob and Ray. Chris' claim to fame is that he was "the guy under the seats" when the David Letterman Show was on NBC (that's if you don't count "Cabin Boy", which is really more of an embarrassment than a claim to fame).

I used to find Chris Elliot very funny, though I can't for the life of me remember where I would see him...was he on SNL? Of course those are some BIG shoes to fill...hard to beat Bob & Ray...
