Well, I survived the weekend of "almost teenagers", and learned many things including an all-chocolate cure for cramps, and everything there is to know about "Timothy" (the object of affection).

I worked at the women's center this morning and a couple of the regulars came up and gave me hugs, for no apparent reason other than the fact that they missed me when I wasn't there last monday. Made my day!

Went back to work this afternoon after the week off. Surprisingly, hardly anything happened that concerned me all last week, so I returned to pretty much the same pile of work that was there when I left.

I have decided to make a week-long silent retreat in July. I've never done a silent retreat before, but I really feel the need to shut the hell up for a while and listen.

The San Damiano retreat center in Danville. I've never been there before, but heard that it's nice.

Yes, it is nice. Despite not being a devout Catholic, I ended up there recently for a wedding. It was very peaceful.

I did a silent retreat at an Episcopal convent Lent before last, and really enjoyed it/ got a good bit of calming and centering out of it. I wish I could have fit one into my schedule this last time around.

I have always wanted to do a holy week retreat, but have been too involved in liturgy every year so far. I figure I only have one more chance before I'm ordained so I'm already planning for next spring.
