The user icon I am currently using is from a picture I took the other day. It was graffiti on a wall in Point Reyes, a small, relatively isolated town north of San Francisco.

I posted a comment in someone's journal a while ago, and someone else who posted a comment wrote me and asked if I lived in Point Reyes. She wrote that my user icon reminded her of some graffiti on a wall that she had taken a picture of.

Point Reyes Station has got one of my favorite reasonably cheap restaurants. :)

In general, that region (West Marin, Point Reyes) is one of my favorite places on the entire planet.

I know he did a lot at Point Lobos, which is south of there around Monterey.

Do you ever come out to the west coast? I'd love to show you Point Reyes some day.

It is--there are quite a few. Some are just eyes. It is the front of a boarded-up building, painted black, and usually has all sorts of posters tacked up on it.

Very interesting. Do you know anything about the history of the painting, how old, who did it, if they are religious icons etc?
