I _am_ through with my treatments. Finished in September. My PET Scan came back clear as a bell, except for my thyroid, which has nothing to do with the cancer. It's what my oncologist called Prominent. Anyway, my Primary Doc could detect no abnormal swelling, etc. so I had a blood panel run to see what's up. It's making too many something. So I have an appointment with the endocrinologist on Febreary 6. The Primary told me it would take months, and he was right. My comment was "Well, it's not like there is blood in my stool or anything." He picked up on the irony right away.
Outside of that and perhaps a more than pesky amount of short-term memory loss, I am doing well. I had gained about 30 lbs. while on Chemo. So that is my big project now...to lose th at and the 37 more that I want to get rid of. I expect that will take about a year.
As I have said before, I sometimes feel guilty that I had as easy a time of it as I did, but others tell me that I shouldn't.
I replied to Arlina's last update posting. Did you see it? How's her nausea, etc.? e

Arlina is not having nearly the nausea with these medications as with the previous ones, and has been able to keep up her appetite and gain some weight.

The thing I notice is that she gets very fatigued, and towards the end of the evening starts to get confused a little, just before she falls asleep. Hopefully this passes.

But all in all, she seems much healthier that I would have expected, and every day is a blessing.
