On the road

We are on the way to southern califorina to visit my mom for a few days. We left at 6 pm last night and are staying at the halfway point--the lovely Buttonwillow Motel 6. I was surprised and pleased to find an active wireless signal floating around the vicinity of our room, and so am taking advantage.

The last time I wisited my mom was when she had her heart attack and angioplasty, about two weeks before Arlina got sick. That was the same time I bought my camera. Seven months ago--seems like another lifetime.

I bought the CD box set to "The Blues" to listen to on the way down--what amazing music. Now I know who the daddy of rock and roll was.

Have you seen the miniseries? That was the one that I was given free tickets to a screening for. Well, the screening was a sampling from four different episodes, I think. Pretty amazing stuff.

Speaking of which, I'm bluesin' it up with Muddy Waters this morning. Ahhhhh.
