That's beautiful.

I love the delta ferries and drawbridges and random docks.

There are so many little surprises. It is one of my favorite places to explore.

Oh, wow. I really, really like this. I love reflections in water......I find them fascinating. This is also so very peaceful.

It was peaceful. The water was like glass, and there was no one about.

It has sortof been brought up already....but the treeline is so elliptical and smooth it really looks unnatural. I mean, you realize it IS natural, but you have to do a double-take. That part is really fascinating to me. Yes, it does look like a guitar.

A painter who painted a treeline in that fashion would be accused of being juvenile, or something.
: )

Cliche maybe. It surprised me, because I was trying to capture the bridge and the boat, and was not even paying attention to the trees.

Stunning ! !

I would be proud to do one that beautiful. Do you cross post to any of the photo communities?

I haven't, but I was looking at some of your beautiful work in the megapixels community, and thought I might put some stuff up there--they just look better bigger.

I agree on bigger. There is no limit on size in [livejournal.com profile] megapixels but I generally try for a width of about 1,000. That fills a standard monitor nicely at 1024 resolution but does not require scrolling. This one would also do well in [livejournal.com profile] panorama.

Gorgeous and peaceful. Where is it? Specifically. I'd like to see it, in real life.

Many many miles from you--the Sacramento river in northern California. If you ever make it out this way I'd be happy to show you.

Not out of the question, but it'll be awhile. Thanks.

Ahhh...I want to sit in there for awhile.

I like how the shape of the trees on the left with the reflection looks like a guitar....

I saw the guitar too, and almost cropped the picture that way!

You have a lot to play with there...

...yes, a larger image would be nice to scroll across the screen and see more detail.

I think cropping out the yellow crane/barge and play with the trees would be time well spent.

But what do I know.

This photo unstuck me in time before I looked closer to fix it. As it is, it's still a little scary and very impressive in that respect.

Beautiful! I also saw the guitar, but I would probably leave it as is. Is this shot with tripod, and slow shutter speed? It has the thick, surreal quality of that type of shot, but it seems the trees would be less sharp from movement. Oh, or maybe it was a bit foggy?

It was a bit foggy. Everything was gray, and the only color around was the yellow of the bridge. I think that's why I shot it.
