1. So, whymyasma for a user name?
It goes back to my earliest days online on Compuserv. Back then, you were identified by a number rather than a name. After you signed on, you could type in a name that you could use for the session. I used "miasma" pretty often (the other name i used was "zyzyly", which has a story all its own). Miasma is a medical term meaning something like "big stink that makes you sick". When I got to AOL. "miasma was already taken, so I tried "myasma". And here we are.
2. What was it that finally let you know that it was time to stop drinking?
A phone call from the accounting department for the place I worked, asking where the money was.
3. How goes the house hunting and what would the ideal house for you be like?
The house hunting is on hold until after I finish my oral exams for the diaconate in the first part of March. I don't want to be digging through boxes for books.
The irony in looking for the ideal house is that I already live in it. I love this house, and really don't want to leave it. But we have to be closer to Arlina's family. At this point, I don't care what the next house looks like.
4. What is your favorite album? and does it sound better on vinyl, cassette, reel-to-reel or CD?
This is the most diffcult of the bunch! I don't have a favorite album. There are about 20 or 30 albums that I consider essential to my collection. And they all sound better on vinyl, except for the ones that were never released on vinyl.
I will tell you this. There was a time in my life when I was separated from my music, and had to recreate albums from memory. The one I listened to most often in my mind was "Thick as a Brick", by Jethro Tull.
5. What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment?
Probably giving up drinking, but it encompasses more than just that. It is surviving my 20s, and going on to establish a life that I am proud of. Everything I have accomplished since then kind of flows from that.
