the flow of water--i love it. today in northern california at a place called "maveicks," a surfing event took place (which is called spontaneously when the waves reach 30 feet or more) where surfers are given 24 hour notice and to which they show up from all over the world. they are towed by jet-ski out to the waves and compete in a spectacular contest for money and bragging rights. spectacular to say the least. the biggest waves were yesterday, but today was nothing to be ashamed of as they were at least 30 feet. one of friends son won the contest--10K and the b. rights. his name is "flea" and is a professional surfer. all this to say that the many forms and presentations of water, bring a multitude of visions of pereceptions as it's characteristics are endless. your representation is one that captures a bit of that multiplicity. thanks. :)

The son of one of my friends lives in Santa Cruz in his car, and lives to surf.

This was taken near my house--smack in the middle of a bunch of subdivisions. A creek runoff, that when dry, looks like badly poured concrete. When the water is running, it looks spectacular. I sat there for a while today and watched the water flow. I don't know who thought to put it there, but it was a nice touch to an otherwise dreary landscape. Water cleanses all.

I have a shot of a horseshoe-shaped waterfall from stream runoff during a summer monsoon. It's in the middle of a pasture. Let me see if I can find it.
