Inquisition
Mar. 5th, 2004 08:05 pmAt 2:10 pm I walked into a room and sat down before a panel consisting of a priest, a theologan and a deacon. They asked me questions and I answered them. This was my academic and pastoral evaluation--the culmination of five years of study for the permanent diaconate. It lasted for about an hour, and I was done.
I am so glad it's over. My brain hurts.

Date: 2004-03-07 06:08 am (UTC)I'm not anxious to make a decision. It is like standing in a room with a number of closed doors, and having to decide which one to walk through without really knowing what is on the other side.

Date: 2004-03-09 07:36 am (UTC)I remember when I went through a similar Inquisition many years ago. At one point, I felt like I was sitting on the sidelines listening to this idiot spouting off answers. I kept thinking "What is he talking about?" -- the whole experience was surreal. But eventually my divided self re-grouped and I was able to speak from the heart and talk to them like a human being. I passed, but eventually decided to pursue a different path.
Congratulations on passing this milestone -- your brain will recover. But fasten your seatbelt and take a deep breath before you get to the for the ones to come.
