I love the way the one on the right is sitting on such a narrow sign. There were all sorts of possibilities with this one--I may mess with it a little. ;)

I grew up fishing every weekend at that inlet when all of the boats were docked there. I even got to operate the bridge when I was about 9 years old. I remember the old revolving bridge that used to be there. Boy has it changed.

It took me a minute to remember that I took this on your side of the country and not mine.

It was a beautiful place, although largely inaccessible since it is mostly private estates and clubs. I tried to go out to the lighthouse, but was stopped by a guard.

each dawn i walk by the ocean. there is a pelican who flies the length of the beach just after sunrise. just the one pelican *although there are plenty in nearby places*. i've been trying to photograph it for weeks now. it's the "elusive pelican" lol! without fail, i am mesmerised by the unfolding beauty of the new day and by the time the pelican is within my view it has flown on again....as i fumble to turn on the camera, aim...focus...

i have a photo of a sydney pelican..... i'll try and find it.

Every morning when I was there, I walked out onto the beach before sunrise and watched the sun come up. The pelicans would glide by so slowly and gracefully--it was magical. I'll post some sunrise pics soon.
