Usually after a week or so of posting pictures, I get an urge to post words. I can often feel a post gestating for a few days before it actually pops out. Sometimes the pictures are prelude--a way of saying something when the words aren't there. Most of the time there is no relation between the two--the pictures merely fill the empty spaces.
Some of my LJ friends are so talented with words--they can tell stories that bring me to tears or leave me convulsing with laughter. Others share day to day glimpses of their lives, often much different than my own, but almost always containing something that links us. I am grateful for these moments--they enrich my life.
I sometimes wish I was a different kind of journaller--the kind that writes what is happening at the moment, whatever it may be. I would love to capture those moments--sometimes they are so fleeting!
But I am not that kind. Every word is a struggle.

Date: 2004-04-28 08:52 am (UTC)I love your posts. Your pictures are always so striking. I don't know how long you labor at your "word" posts, but I also think you have a great writing style -- understated, economical, but with a lovely rhythm to it (and this one is no exception).
