Equilibrium
Jul. 10th, 2004 05:17 pmThings are pretty much back to normal around here--whatever that means.
We are still waiting to hear from doctor A who is supposed to be talking with doctor B about what we should do next. It is a nice limbo--we are good at waiting. Meanwhile, Arlina added some more pain control patches to the mix and is feeling more comfortable. She is zooming around the house today doing all the things that drive me crazy. yay!

The house is still for sale. No buyers yet, although a bunch of people have been through to look at it. It is weird having strangers walking through your house, opening closets and such. The agent is having an open house tomorrow--I don't think I want to be here for it, so we are going to the movies. Any suggestions?
The older nieces have been staying with us during the week. It is great to have them here--there is nothing like peals of young laughter to brighten the day. I have been trying to talk them into following potential house buyers around as they look, and asking them "what are you doing?" every 30 seconds or so. So far they have resisted my suggestion. I guess I have to take this house selling thing more seriously. I did finally clean up my room a little:

On the other hand, I am taking work much less seriously--taking half days off here and there, or leaving early to take walks around the neighborhood before I go home. I talked to my boss and told him I would be taking as much time off as possible in the next couple of months, and he was way cool with that.
Speaking of walks, I am walking about 4-5 miles three or four days a week now. I am down almost 30 pounds! It feels good to be out there, and it is a great time to reflect. I find lots of interesting things to take pictures of along the way.

I baptized a bunch of babies today--first time ever! There were something like 12 of them, and it was complete chaos. It was so cool--water flying everywhere! Lots of pictures after--everyone wanted one with me. It was odd being the subject and not the photographer. It hadn't occurred to me before, but I am going to end up in a lot of people's photo albums.
I'm barbecuing hamburgers tonight. The Alton Brown way.
Saturdays are such a blessing--treasure them!

:)
Congratulations you! 30 pounds is nothing to scoff at. Dean and I were just reading about this old fellow who won the guiness book of world record for the oldest competing athlete- he did the 100 metre dash in 30 seconds and his secret to keeping in shape is walking 4 miles a day- guess how old he is, 100!
I was so impressed.
Did you also modify your diet- or just increase activity?
♥ to you both- I hope you continue to have a great weekend.

I always enjoy your pictures so much.
That's a lot of miles.
I can't wait to get back to walking again, as soon as the children start school.
Enjoy those burgers! & Have a nice rest of the evening!
