I woke up early this morning, and walked outside and looked east. There were a number of stars in the sky--the constellations I never get to see. I imagine [livejournal.com profile] flying_blind knows their names.

There was one star that was so bright. I stood there for a couple of minutes, captivated. It was beautiful. I was sure it meant something. I guess it didn't.

How can you be sure?

well, it didn't mean what i wanted it to mean, but maybe it was there to remind me how big the universe is.

I'd bet it wasn't a star but a planet, specifically Venus.

Venus, our nearest sister, named for the Goddess of Love.

It meant something. Every single one of them buggers, dim or bright mean something. But it's usually something so big that we can't fit our heads around it. So I usually just settle for thinking about that single, unwavering band of light. That runs through us all. Up to the stars and then back again.

i think you are right--i will focus on the light and now worry about trying to understand it.

these were beautiful words, by the way. the salt air hasn't completely washed away the social worker.

the morning sky at that hour does things to my heart too. i really should get up earlier every day and go out to see it.

what time was it do you think? i would love to wake up and see venus. sadly im in the middle of a city so i hope it isnt too low on the horizon lest it be blocked out by buildings, trees, etc.

When does Arlina see the oncologist? Or did she yesterday?

of course it meant something. but who knows what that something is besides yourself.

and even if it didnt? there is no harm in believing it did. there can be much comfort in believing it did. furthermore, if you believe it meant something, then it meant something.

im thinking of you both.

Venus would have been there almost due east this morning and about 35 degrees up from the horizon with Saturn just above and to the left of it, and murcury below and to the left (about 10 degrees up from the horizon).

Being reminded of love in the morning is never a bad thing....especially when the thought is delivererd by the messenger of the gods.
